Minimising food waste
We buy to order every week — no excess, no waste. Any unsold produce is given away rather than discarded, and we work proactively with our supply chain partners to extend shelf life and reduce spoilage.
Sustainable packaging
We reuse fresh produce packaging wherever possible for deliveries (mostly cardboard boxes). We don't use custom manufactured branded packaging. We collect used boxes from our customers on request and then reuse or recycle those to the extent possible. Where rebagging is needed we choose recyclable or compostable options as much as possible, keeping single-use materials such as soft plastics to a minimum. For produce that comes in hard to recycle containers like polystyrene boxes, we clean and recycle those boxes using programs like Styrocycle.
Lower energy & carbon footprint
Produce goes from the Brisbane Markets to your door the same day — no long periods in retail cold storage, no energy-intensive supply chain. Same-day delivery means fresher food with a lighter footprint.
Australia & NZ grown
We source Australian and New Zealand grown fresh produce wherever possible as allowed by seasonal growing conditions, reducing food miles and the waste that comes with long-distance freight. Buying local means supporting our farmers and getting produce at its seasonal best.

Every order placed outside the big supermarket chains chips away at their extraordinary buying power, generating more competition for fresh produce and placing money directly into the hands of local growers and fresh produce wholesalers. By sourcing from the Brisbane Markets and nearby businesses we maintain a short, transparent supply chain and keep our community's food dollars working locally.
Hi, I'm Sam 👋
I started Sam's Fresh Foods to make it easier for Brisbane families to enjoy fresh, healthy and high-quality food including fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and eggs. Like many people, we used to order our groceries online, but too often the food wasn't as fresh as we'd hoped. That experience inspired me to create a service where quality and freshness are paramount and every order is personally selected.
Every week I personally source produce from the Brisbane Markets, local farmers and trusted suppliers, selecting the best available fruit and vegetables for each delivery. Every order is carefully inspected before it leaves, and I deliver directly to customers across Brisbane's western suburbs.
As a small, local business, I take personal responsibility for every order. If something doesn't meet your expectations, please let me know and I'll make it right.
Sustainability and health matters a lot to me. I take steps to minimise food waste, save energy, reduce packaging and to source responsibly. I prioritise freshness and quality, and offer organic produce sourced from certified growers where available.
